Given that this was shown during X'mas and it was a made-in-Hong-Kong film, one can expect this is a formula film, but as long as you find it fun, who cares?
Reason 1, they danced well. Sorry if I kept focusing on the dance but not the others. They were actually much better than those 'dancers' I have met in some dance functions. Anita Mui was nice and I had known that she would be great. Her first dance in the film was no worse than the Tango in Love and Dance or Take the Lead; Sandra Ng danced well too, the final Tango was better than that in Dance with me. Of course, even they were choreographed they still had a good lead to shine, so Andy Lau should be impressive too. But sorry that I was trained to examine girls' dancing, and am now undergoing further training towards the boys', I have little to talk about the man steps. Besides, the film was mainly about Andy's change of attitude, and Sandra's pursuit of her dream, man's dancing was never a focus. Nevertheless, they danced nicely.
Reason 2, Anita Mui. She herself was a guarantee. She has been my favourite local star since I was still young (as young as 10!), even her death had not ceased my liking for her. I still like her and would like to hear her songs, and watch her concerts' DVD over and over again! She was amazing!
Reason 3, personally, I like Sandra's reason to dance. She wanted to be looking good, especially together with her idol. I didn't start dancing because of a handsome coach, but the time I quitted belly dancing and jumped into International style, I wanted to have a change and wanted to be beautiful and strong, as Belisama (didn't mean that belly dancing is not beautiful and not strong, but I had little chance to flaunt since the dance was still quite limited to ladies at the time). It's nice to have a change; even we are not as successful as the world class dancers, it is still nice to have some goal.
花那麼一點的時間, 買一個灰姑娘的童話, 真的好值得。
